Expect quite a few Body Shop reviews over the coming weeks as I was a victim of the 50% off sale. Show me a discount code & I just cannot help myself, especially when it’s across all products, from such an amazing brand, and comes with a free gift.
A few months ago in an attempt to start a fresh with my dry split hair I chopped about 5 inches off *sob* & stopped using heat stylers such as hair dryers & straighteners. It seems to have worked a treat but my ends are still a little dry from time to time & need a pamper, so when I spotted the Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter online for £3.00 for 50ml (or £1.50 with the 50% off) I decided I would be an idiot not to pop it in my basket. And no one likes an idiot.
The Body Shop say this ‘Luxuriously rich and intensive deep-conditioning treatment gives soft, glossy and tangle-free hair’ Sign me up for that, especially as my hair is curly & loves to get its self in a tangle. It is silicone, paraben & colourant free (the hair baddies), and contains plenty of goodies; Pracaxi Oil (a natural seed oil), Manketti Nut Oil (said to nourish hair & give UV Protection) & Community Trade Honey Oil (an all round goody; protecting, nourishing & moisturising hair). This is to be used as a treatment around once a week, after shampooing, to give your hair a boost.
The packaging is lovely, all nice greens & white (very clean looking) but can be a pain as you have to dip your hands in the tub to get at the product, some messy people like myself then end up with this all over. But, it is worth it once your nose gets a smell of the butter. WOW. It smells so clean & refreshing, what I imagine the Rainforest to smell like after a heavy rain. Perfect. So nice that I am off to go buy the whole range when I next pop into TBS. The consistency is like that of a body butter, not too slimy or too hard so it’s easily spread throughout the ends of your hair. After smoothing this on the last few inches of my hair I wrapped my hair in a towel & left it to work its magic for 15 minutes, before rinsing off. The butter rinses off easily & didn’t take ages to wash out or leave any nasty residue on my locks.
My hair was easier to comb through after washing & there wasn’t a single tangle. After my hair had dried it felt so soft & silky, smelt amazing (a mild fresh fragrance) & didn’t feel weighed down like some treatments can leave your locks feeling. It also didn’t tangle as much as it usually does, I am prone to finding tangled clumps on the underside of my hair come lunchtime. I am very impressed with this little pot & will definitely be purchasing this again, apart from the tub itself I cannot fault it at all. Also it is more my inability to not make a mess than it is a problem with the tub, lets be honest. This has made it’s way into my Sunday night pamper routine.
