Fragrance Direct are currently running a competition for bloggers whereby you can win a London Fashion Week experience, all you have to do is submit your a/w 14 hot looks. As you can see from mine it’s no surprise that it’s berry lips – I love me a berry lip no matter what time of the year. But that’s not what it’s all about, you can’t just pop on a gorgeous sultry colour and go (well if you’re me you can’t, I need a lot more help than that). For me it’s all about the basic and minimal in terms of makeup this season, with the exception of lips; go bold and luxe when it comes to lips.
Flawless skin is a must and the Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation | £28.50 is great for that, giving extra moisture during the harsher weather months and also protecting skin with added SPF – yes, SPF is needed all year round. Team this with the Bobbi Brown Blush in Tawny | £18.50 for a subtle natural look flushed colour for a gorgeous ‘just been for a cold winter walk’ look. Eyes should be subtle but still defined so a light slick of the Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eyeliner | £1.99 would be perfect slightly smudged out in the outer third of eye, followed by 2 natural looking coats of Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara | £4.99 – this is one of my Holy Grail mascaras as it looks great for a natural looked but layers up really well to add a bit more drama to your lashes. Before adding a bold lip colour apply two coats of OPI Nail Lacquer in Did You Ear About Van Gough | £3.99 for gorgeous nude nails that are pretty, subtle and don’t distract from the main feature of your look. Now on to the good stuff; the Bobbi Brown Lipstick in Blackberry | £17.00, this colour is absolutely stunning and will suit all skin tones – from super pale to darker skins it’s really going to stand out. It’s a gorgeous deep berry colour which are my all time favourites when it comes to lippies.
With the minimal makeup look everywhere but the lips it makes the deep berry coloured lip easy to rock through the day without looking over the top, and you can take it to a more dramatic evening look easily. Add some more eyeliner and smudge it out a bit further for a simple but slightly smokey look and layer up some more mascara for fuller looking lashes.
What looks will you be rocking this season or what do you think is going to be the big look of the year? I am also betting on gorgeous jewel toned shades for eyes.
