Just before Christmas I took part in an amazing collaboration with InPost which involved secret parcel swapping with lovely bloggers. #ShareTheBeauty was like a giant pass the parcel, beauty style and of course I jumped at the chance to join in, mostly so I could pick out products to send to someone else – I love picking items for people and shopping for goodies. I sent my parcel to the lovely Jess from Lilypod & Sweetpea which you can check out on her Instagram.
First up InPost is a parcel locker service that means you don’t have to wait around for Mr Delivery man all day; you send/receive a parcel to a locker near you and then pick it up at a time that’s convenient for you, so no more little red cards of blogger doom. It costs £4.50 to send a parcel, which is a little more than the ‘little red card elves’ but I think it’s great value as the convenience of it all more than makes up for the £1/£2 extra than it would cost, plus if you are sending a shoe box sized parcel then it probably works out cheaper.
I was very lucky in the box of goodies I received from the gorgeous Sascha at Beauty Geek UK and it seems she did her research. I received my box a couple of days before I went on holiday which was perfect timing as there were 3, yes 3, lipsticks in there and in the most beautiful shades so I took them all away with me, well it would be rude not to – you can see some Instagram snaps of me with them on here and here. Sascha picked up the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette which smells amazing and is an absolute dream in terms of colours (just look at that burgundy colour), I also got the prettiest green eyeliner by Bobbi Brown; Midnight Forest is a beautiful dark emerald green gel eyeliner with a slight shimmer too it so it looks so pretty with a few coats of Mascara and nothing else, I am in love with the formula – I mean look at it, it is stunning. I also got a face mask from Elemis, which is not pictured as someone stole it from the stash, I know who it was though don’t worry they will be banned from ever entering my beauty layer again.
Now on to my favourites – the lip products. What more could a girl want than 3 lipsticks; I was such a lucky lady to receive the bloggers favourite that is Heroine by MAC and also the gorgeous shade that is Rebel. I saved the best lip product for last, this is my favourite colour but also a little strangely named; Fanny by NARS is a shade that is right up my street, despite the name making me giggle like a school child.
There was one slight disaster with my parcel in that the Hourglass Ambient Light Powder (in Diffused Light) was broken into a gazillion trillion pieces *sobs* which broke my little heart, but I have been told that broken powders can be fixed. Apparently if I chop it all up into a fine powder, spray with alcohol (not gin) and press it back into the pan it will be useable again, I am not entirely sure this will work. If you have tried this then let me know, or let me know in the comments how I can fix it and mend my broken heart.
Have you tried any of these products? I think my faves are Fanny by NARS *teehee* and the stunning gel liner by Bobbi Brown.
