It can be hard to know where on the internet to find helpful and useful sites for blogging as the internet is a big ol’ place, plus there are plenty of naff sites out there hiding the good ones. I thought I would share some sites I have been finding really handy lately, you know ‘cos I am sometimes a nice person like that. Let me know in the comments your thoughts on them, or any sites you find useful too.
This has become my latest obsession and I am not ashamed to say I think I have a problem. SumoMe helps you to track your readers and their habits on your site by heat maps of where they are clicking, or showing you just how much of a posts content is being read. As I can tend to go on a fair bit in my posts (I know I know, but I can’t help myself) it shows me at what point people are getting bored, or falling asleep, and clicking off my blog. Try it, you will become obsessed within minutes.
Lists, lists everywhere, it’s like a bloggers dream. You can both make lists and browse other people; at first I didn’t get this site, I was like ‘I have enough note pads for all my lists’ but this is lists on a whole other level. It’s easy to use and it means all your lists are in one place. So I can have a list of ‘Awesome Blogs’ that I can keep adding to, and it means I don’t need to keep book marking sites, plus I can share it with other people. ALL THE LISTS.
I love this site, but then again I do love a nice piece of code (make no wonder I am single). If you ever want to make any little adjustments to your blog then this is the place to find out the coding to use, it’s really simple, so simple that even I can use it. It also has a test environment so you can practice without ruining your blog.
OK, so some of the post titles this thing churns out are comical, but in saying that everytime I go on there with bloggers block I always come away with an idea, it might not be the idea it generated but it’s given me inspiration all the same. Give it a try for a giggle if nothing else, I did today and the post it gave me was ‘How to Cheat at Beauty Blogs and Get Away With It’ which actually sounds quite interesting.
What sites do you find helpful/useful? Sites your blogging life can’t be without? Also, if you use Google Analytics check out this post on how to use all its features.
