RESEARCH
Blogging on a budget can be hard, the amount of time I have nipped into Boots or some such place and picked up things without having researched them is crazy, especially considering I am a blogger. Stepping into Boots without having a clear idea of what I want and having researched it is dangerous, I end up picking items that I later discover have terrible reviews and they turn out to be no good products. Had I of researched it beforehand I could have saved myself a lot of pennies. Don’t just buy products for the sake of the blog, or buy all the colours to blog about, buy what you know will work for you and you will actually use.
LOYALTY CARDS
If you use these correctly they can be great for your blog and more importantly blogging on a budget, or for a lot of people they are great for Christmas presents if you save them up. If you know you shop somewhere a lot then grab a loyalty card from them; Debenhams, Superdrug Boots, The Perfume Shop. Get them all. I probably earn quite a few Boots points through the year & it’s great for my blog because every so often I can redeem them for a new lipstick/mascara/blusher for a feature or review – free content right there. Also look out for the voucher kiosks in Boots with that week’s special offers, or double points on certain products; you never know they might just be the products you were going to buy.
VOUCHER SITES
Whenever I buy something I always search for a voucher code first places like VoucherBin offer codes for retailers from everything from free delivery to 30% off, they also have a special section dedicated to VoucherBin UK stores so you don’t have to browse through lots of US stores to find the ones relevant to you. For me it’s the retailers like HQhair, Look Fantastic and Feel Unique that I can make the most from, as retailers like this are perfect for me to make a blog haul each month, save money and get some great discounts… Any excuse for me to buy new lipstick and be able to justify it huh?
STASHES
We all have one, and we are all guilty of stepping into Boots/Superdrug and going a little crazy at the beauty stands, but then the items get used once and shoved to the back of your cupboard. Shopping your stash is a great way to make your products pay and help you stick to your blogging on a budget goals, get your uses from them and blog about it
SURVEYS
I have been using Valued Opinions for around a week now and have £8.50 in rewards, which you can claim vouchers for at £10 including vouchers for Boots. You can get anything from 50p to £1.50 for a survey which can last from 5 minutes to 30 minutes and I have been getting about 3 survey offers a day, not all of which I actually can qualify for. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but for a few minutes ticking boxes and £10 a week in Boots vouchers I can deal with that, it’s a nice little treat each month and a way to buy some beauty bits for the blog.
