My name is Hayley & I have a hand cream and lip balm hoarding problem… There I admitted it. If you ever find yourself at my desk at work would notice the abundance of creams I have stashed under my computer screens; hands creams, lip balms, lip scrubs, cuticle creams and savlon. I try to justify by problem by saying I need 4 hand creams as they all off different things, the 2 lip scrubs are needed because one satisfies my sweet tooth and the other is just tasty, I need the current 5 lip balms as some are sparkly, some a sheer and I JUST NEED THEM ALL. A brand I have heard amazing things about before but had yet to add to my collection is Lanolips; an Australian founded company that uses natural ingredients to offer maximum effect. The key ingredient is Lanolin (as the name suggests) which is derived from sheeps wool. The product is vegetarian friendly as Lanolin is a by-product of the wool which is taken from the annual sheep shearing, not only that but Lanolin is very similar to the natural oils humans produce.
Lanolips started off with just lip balms but over the years they have added more products to the line, including hand and body creams. Their most recent addition is the Lanolips 3-in-1 Banana Balm (£8.99)* which is just as perfect as it sounds. With a mix of lanolin, natural banana extract and shea butter the creamy formula moisturises, nourishes and gives a little shimmer too. From the too cute packaging to the banana milkshake taste I love this balm, it applies to creamily and locks in moisture, there isn’t any greasiness to the formula and it just leaves lips feeling hydrated without feeling smothered in greasy products. There is a slight shimmer too it which gives the lips a lustre/iridescent and not a full on glitter lips look. I am a big fan of the finish, worn alone it adds a little something extra or if you pop a little in the centre of your lips after lipstick it gives off a beautiful gloss look & makes lips look bigger. So good is this that it has a place permanently in my handbag; it goes from desk to home to pub and never leaves my side.
Yet again another perfectly packaged and too cute item that has me swooning; the Lanolips Rose Balm (£9.99)*. The prettily pink packaged balm is a beautifully scented silky cream that is currently doing wonders for the dry areas of my cuticles – more so than my cuticle cream. You only need a small amount to get a silky feeling hydration, and I find a 20p size amount does hands, cuticles and elbows easily. There isn’t a greasy texture too it, and it soaks into skin quite quickly considering the buttery texture, yet leaves behind a silky feeling akin to a primer.
I can’t believe it has taken me this long to try these out, but I know for sure I won’t be without these on my desk any more – or the lip balm by my side in my handbag wherever I go. I think I have found a tasty new balm that will a favourite for a long time to come. Have you tried any of the Lanolips range?
