Look another Scents for Summer post, you can catch my original one here if you need a little catch up. As I said in my original Scents for Summer post I love to swap around my scents as the seasons change and I also love a variety of scents, price ranges and brands when it comes to my perfume picks. As more scents have been released and made their way into my little stash I thought I would share with you some of my favourites and most summer fresh ones. So here we have it my New in Scents for Summer for 2015.
YARDLEY JADE EDT & ENGLISH DAISY EDT
Now call me naïve but I have never really thought of Yardley for fragrances like this, in the past it’s always been seen as an ‘older’ brand to me and one for traditional scents but it seems I was wrong. Yardley have come out with some fresh and young fragrances over the last year or so and have really upped their game and tried to rebrand without losing their heritage. Jade (£19.99)* stood out to me due to the gorgeous green colour and 60s style marketing/packaging, it’s described as a retro inspired fruity scent that’s encapsulates the 60s vibe. With gorgeous top notes of peach and bergamont, heart notes of jasmine (my favourite), ylang ylang and rose it settles in to a gorgeous florally fruit scent on the skin which lasts well into the day. I love how subtle this is once on the skin and how fresh it smells, so perfect for summer.
English Daisy (£10.99)* is scent for summer that I thought might be a little on the older side, but yet again Yardley have proved me wrong and I actually love how light and dewy this smells. Daisies are one of my favourite flowers and this fragrance reminds me of them in that they radiate summer, sunshine and freshness. This has top notes of apple and fresh green leaves with warmer notes of white rose and hyacinth. I have found myself reaching for this most mornings which is a pleasant surprise for me.
SHE WHO DARES DALLIANCE
I previously featured the sister scent to this, Eminence (£32.00)* and I have stupidly photographed the same perfume again instead of Dalliance; I blame my old age. This was my least favourite of the two scents, but that doesn’t mean it’s not nice, just a little too musky/bold for my summer tastes, but yet perfect for a night out. The base of the scent is quite a musky heady mix and coupled with magnolia and tuberose notes it’s a very evening scent in my eyes. My mum actually stole this one as she loves it and prefers this one out of the two
GIORGIO ARMANI SI
My favourite of the scents for summer has to be Giorgio Armani Si (£41.50)* which is such a classic scent that can be worn through the day or evening as it’s both fresh and sweet at the same time. I love the simple yet eye-catching bottle, it’s not too in your face yet you still notice it on your dresser, I am in love with the Neroli & Jasmine top notes which mix beautifully with the Amber & Vanilla base notes, it has a wonderfully fruity yet sweet feminine scent and I can’t get enough of it. The staying power is ridiculously good and after I sprayed some when it arrived I could still smell it when I went to bed that night. This along with a few other scents is in my all-time favourites now.
Which scents do you love most this time of year and what do I need to add to my collection? I need more summer fragrance inspiration.
