here As I mentioned yesterday, the year is nearly over and it’s time for 2016 and with it, it brings lots of new beauty products to be discovered and sorted in to loves/hates. I have too many favourites though so I had to split this in to Top 10 Skincare and Top 10 Beauty. Now for the big beauty favourites reveal…
My two favourite base products form the year, especially when used together, have to be from Too Faced. The Born This Way Foundation (£29.00) was a staple in my daily makeup for ages, but it’s a little too dark for me now so I need to pick another up in a paler shade. The oil free formula is perfect for my combo skin and it doesn’t cling to my dry patches. The Too Faced Primed and Poreless Primer (£24.00) is a fairly new purchase but one I have been using all the time when I have somewhere important to go or a night out as I know it will even out my skin tone, smooth my complexion and help keep my foundation in place for longer.
Trying to narrow my picks down to two eyeshadow palettes was HARD work, let me tell you. I really wanted a Makeup Revolution one in there, but lately I have been using the two included more. You can read my post on the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette* to find out why I love it so much, but I am sure that needs no explanation; LOOK AT IT. My first palette from Zoeva was Cocoa Blend Palette (£15.00) and I love it so much that I want to but all the rest. My favourites from the palette are Warm Notes, Subtle Blend, Freshly Toasted and Delicate Acidity.
Despite having more blushers than one girl could ever use in a life time I tend to gravitate towards the same ones; those being Makeup Revolution Matte Blush in New Rules (£3.00)* and Maxfactor Crème Puff in Lavish Mauve (£8.99). The MUR blushes are amazing for £3.00 each and the pigmentation is crazy good. I love the slight gleam that the Maxfactor blush gives to the skin and the colour is such a beautiful one for paler skin tones. Two products I have used every day since I purchased them are coming up, and trust me when I say I could not be without these in my daily makeup now – they are just that good. The Fairydrops Scandal Queen Quattro Mascara (£18.50) is WOW. Like serious WOW. My lashes have never looked so darn good as when I use this; it lengthens, volumises, separates, EVERYTHING. You look at the wand and think ‘nah not for me, it’s too thick and has wibbly balls on’ – but trust me it’s well worth the £18.50 price tag.
I can’t believe I am on the final two already?! It took me ages to narrow down my favourite lip colours of the year, as I have quite a few that I wanted to include, if you’re interested you can read my Dark Lip Picks to get an idea of some other amazing lippies. My most used lipstick of the year has been Fanny from the NARS Audacious line (£24.00), it’s a beautiful rich cool toned berry colour that really brightens up any look. Whenever I wear it I get so many compliments and people asking me what lippie it is, and there’s nothing better than being made to feel good about your look. Plus, the NARS Audacious lipsticks go on so smooth and last amazingly well for a non-matte formula. Finally it’s the newest addition to my collection; NYX Soft Matte Cream in Transylvania (£5.50). The colour is a stunning deep and rich cool plum colour that looks amazing with my skin tone – if I do say so myself. The lasting power of the Matte Creams is amazing, the pigmentation is pretty good and also easily buildable – so you can go in light to start with.
