Warning, this post is hella picture heavy and may induce spontaneous purchasing of the Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette… I do not apologise for this. There ARE palette pics, swatches and even 2 eye looks in this post, all to show just how beautiful it is. And believe me when I say my pictures do not do this bad boy justice.
The Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette (£43.00)* is like skittles in eyeshadow form; that’s seriously the way to describe the bright, bold and beautiful palette. But I am getting way ahead of myself in rainbow excitement, first the packaging. I adore the plain black thick plastic casing, cos #Monochrome4LYF and all that. However it wouldn’t be Urban Decay if there wasn’t a little something something, and this something comes in the shape of the UD logo bejewelled to the front in the most beautiful bright and light catching colours. It reminds me of those sticker gems you used to be able to get in the 90s, when you were trying to channel your inner alt girl.
Colours are the usual highly pigmented and buttery UD formula that just makes you want to pat them all over your eyelids, and lips. Yes, I used the shade faded over the top of a lilac lippie and LOVED it. There’s 21 shades, 18 of which are new (2 from the Alice palette in case you missed out on that one) and as you can see there’s every colour under the rainbow. There were a few shades I had trouble with, or weren’t 100% amazing… I found Iced to have less than good colour pay off and the formula is a little chunky. Faded is a stunning colour but there’s a lot of kick up in the pan – not so much a major issue though. My favourite shades were surprisingly the pinks and oranges, especially Seize, Alchemy and Calavera.
You’re probably looking at this palette like yeah it’s beautiful, but I won’t wear it… Trust me you will. I tend to lean more towards mauve and cool toned purple shades but even I can see myself reaching for this a lot. I love that you can create full on bold creative looks with it, or just use one or two shades with other palettes to add a little pop. Anyways, enough of my ramblings here are the swatches and 2 eye looks I created using only the shades in the palette.
