I have a crappy 16GB iPhone 6, so space is limited for me – therefore I have to be selective when it comes to picking apps for my blog. I’m sorry blogging, but the Dominos app is far more important than you. I have a little folder on my phone with 5 blogging apps in that I use religiously – this doesn’t include the obvious ones like Twitter & Instagram, but the little extras that make blogging on the go a little easier. Note – there’s not a phone in my picture, which would make the image relevant to the post I know, because my phone is smashed up; cracked screen and missing home button… LOL.
I am crap at remembering to schedule tweets, sorry folks. I am even worse at scheduling them over the weekend as I tend to do my blog admin stuff day to day on my lunch break work. So when I don’t have my work laptop in front of me I tend to forget blog stuff needs to be done. Which is where the Buffer app is a life saver for me, as I can just hop on there for 5 minutes and re-buffer some tweets to keep my feed full. It’s also really handy that you can have several accounts linked to it, for Facebook, Google Plus, Instagram. I actually pay for the upgraded version too, mostly so that I can have my various Twitter accounts linked up to one sign in.
Praise be to UNUM, I would be lost without this app. It’s main selling point is as an Instagram grid planner, however it’s so much more than that. I use mine to plan my grid (poorly I might add), store upcoming picture draft, write my captions (it tells you how many #s you’ve used so you don’t exceed the 30 limit), and a lot of the time I even edit my pics in there.
Along with all that it also gives you amazing analytical insights, which is perfect for the blogger who have kept their Instagram a personal one instead of a business one. You can see the comments and likes chart for the last 12 posts; your most popular post; the best # for you to use and your follower stats. I never actually use my Instagram business insights, as I much prefer the stats on here or Followers+
Much like UNUM this app offers some great analytics for your Instagram. As soon as you open the app you get to see your engagement graph, number of new followers and followers lost. You can also see who has unfollowed you – personally I was gutted when CrowdFire were forced to remove this option by Instagram, so I am over the moon to be able to see that info again. There are some bonus features to the app too, but you have to pay for them – at the moment I am a little off my insta game so paying for them isn’t worth it for me. Although for a 12 month subscription it’s only 99p a month.
I keep all my blog stuff on a Google sheet, stuff such as my schedule, top #’s, finances etc. I used to use Excel at work but have switched my stuff over to Google Sheets as I can have access to it from all my laptops, phones and computers then. Also, if you’re interested in the spreadsheet I use you can download a copy of my Blog Tracker here *cheeky plug*. It makes blogging a lot easier as my schedule is always to hand so I know what I have to write or photograph.
If you’re not in at least 2 blogger group chats you are lifing wrong. I’m incredibly lucky to be in about 5, with 2 being absolute life lines for me. Whether it’s because I have had a shit day and I want to swear and rant, or because I have a blog problem. These girls are always there for me and I them. There’s only so much you can say on Twitter about the current guy you’re dating, that weird mark you’ve discovered or the fact you want to kidney punch half your work colleagues. Not exactly for blogging, but more for a bloggers sanity.
What are your most used apps for blogging?
