Ok, so I need to rant – what a shocker. But, I ordered something for next day delivery last week and had so many issues with actually getting my parcel that I was legit ready to throw in the towel (or pretty dress in this case) and tell them to keep their stupid delivery.
I had ordered a few bits from a clothing retailer, and the delivery was supposed to the next day via Hermes – which says it all really. So the next day I pitched up in bed, because it’s closer to the door so I will hear it obviously, and then I waited. My delivery slot time passed and was changed. 3 hours later I had an update to say a delivery was attempted. It wasn’t. The following day I did the same again, and again my delivery slot passed and was changed, then 5 hours later an update to say a delivery attempt had been made. It hadn’t. By this point I was so angry that I had wasted 2 days waiting around that I wanted to call the delivery company, but could I find a number anywhere online? Nope. It seems that companies nowadays don’t advertise their customer service numbers, or make them impossible to locate.
I did find a number; however, it was just a generic parcel tracking service number, which was no use at all. We seem to be in an age where people would rather sort things online, which is great as I am usually one of those people. However, there are some things I just need an answer to right away and can’t wait for a reply on Twitter which will come once the issue is sorted. The next day a press release for CCSN dropped into my inbox & I knew I had to share it because Lord knows I could have done with it a day or two before. CCSN are a site which logs the numbers to contact for companies when you’d like to make a complaint or get some answers. Even though I finally got my parcel delivered after 12 hours of waiting in, it’s still handy that in future I know I can find the number for Hermes on CCSN – it’s there, I already checked as soon as I got the press release.
I’ll be saving this site to my favourites, as it’s getting increasingly harder to speak to people or find telephone numbers lately. I mean as much as I love live chat facilities or being able to send a quick Twitter DM to sort an issue, sometimes I want to speak to an actual person and get some answers there and then.
Oh, the dress was too big by the way, but as I had waited so long for delivery it was too late to send it back and re-order a smaller size. So yeah, thanks for spoiling my outfit, Hermes.
